Connect your Shopify store to VWAM.

If you are a Shopify merchant, you can connect your store to VWAM using the Shopify app to sync your product catalog in real time with your Shopping Assistant.

Once connected, VWAM instantly syncs all of your products, including metadata and automatically keeps everything up to date. Any changes to inventory, pricing, variants, or product details in Shopify reflect in VWAM in real time.

This ensures your Shopping Assistant always recommends accurate, in-stock products with the latest information.


Before you begin

Before connecting Shopify to VWAM, ensure:

  • You have admin access to your Shopify store.

  • You have installed the Shopify App

  • Your product catalog in Shopify is fully configured and ready for syncing.


Connect Shopify to VWAM

Follow these steps to connect your Shopify store:

  1. Go to the Integrations tab in VWAM.

  2. Locate the Shopify tile.

  3. Click Connect.

  4. Enter your Shopify storefront URL.

  5. Log in to your Shopify admin account.

  6. Approve the connection.

After approval:

  • Your products immediately begin syncing.

  • Products appear under the Products tab in VWAM.

  • A Shopify Feed option appears in the feed dropdown when selecting products inside your chats.

You can now pull Shopify products directly into your Shopping Assistant experiences.


How product syncing works

VWAM syncs your Shopify catalog in real time.

Any changes made in Shopify automatically update in VWAM, including:

  • Updating pricing

  • Adjusting inventory

  • Editing product descriptions

  • Adding new products

  • Modifying variants

No manual re-syncing is required. This ensures your Shopping Assistant always reflects the most current product data.


Disconnect Shopify

To uninstall or remove the Shopify integration:

  1. Go to your Shopify Admin.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Apps and sales channels.

  3. Locate the VWAM app.

  4. Click Uninstall.

Once uninstalled:

  • Product syncing stops immediately.

  • The Shopify feed no longer updates inside VWAM.

What information is imported about my products?

VWAM imports both customer-facing product information and backend metadata to power intelligent recommendations. This includes:

  • Product titles and descriptions

  • Images

  • Pricing

  • Inventory levels

  • Product categories

  • Collections

  • Tags

  • Variants (such as size and color)

  • Reviews (if available)

  • Additional product metadata

This dataset enables VWAM AI to generate more accurate, context-aware product recommendations.
